Our HistoryIn the early 1900's nursing homes did not exist. Federal assistance programs to help pay for the care of elderly or disabled did not come into existence until the 1950's. Most states sent impoverished citizens to "poor farms" or "almshouses".
Mrs. Sarah Roberts French could see that there was a real need for the elderly without families to care for them. Her vision to help others inspired a dream... |
